Creating a TEDx event is a lot of work. While at Art Center College of Design, I worked with my classmate Mariana Prieto to envision a full-day conference to share stories about the power of design as a catalyst for social good.
It took a year of planning, dozens of meetings, and support from administration all across the campus. To create this event, we initiated our own multidisciplinary class, so the event could be completely created by art and design students. We worked within a real budget, brought in thought leaders from around the country and empowered students to think beyond the traditional bounds of design.
This was Art Center's first TEDx event. The videos can be found here.
I must say a very special thank you to Petrula Vrontikis and Rob Ball for their mentorship and guidance. Without them, the event would not have been as successful as it was.
